The Wolf
First Nations have great respect for wolves because of their likeness. People and wolves hunt, gather, defend, and even educate their tribe or pack. The wolf has always been respected as a very family-oriented animal because he mates for life, watches and protects his young until they are old enough to be independent, and protects the elders.
Wolves symbolize the following; aid and guide children of the earth, teach and share knowledge with others, and have a strong sense of family and loyalty.

Tribal Canoe Source Statement
Tribal Canoe cares and respects wildlife as much as you do. We need to have a healthy sustainable animal population to ensure the survival of all species so future generations can enjoy the advantages of our complete North American wildlife.
All feathers, bird parts (eg. full wings, tails), leather, animal fur, and animal parts are ethically sourced from legally registered companies within Canada and the United States. These companies source both animal and avian parts from registered licensed hunters, trappers, and Native communities within Canada and the United States.
How do you put a cost on a claw?
Each rendered part (meat, hide, bone, tooth, claw, etc.) is natural and one-of-a-kind. We can not forecast the quantity and quality of each part as our supplier does not have a quota but is only supplied when or if an animal has met his or her fate.
The cost for any of these natural products is the time needed to prepare and process each item for proper use or display.
First, you have the time to hunt, or in most cases of our supplier, the animal has been killed due to being a nuisance or has been involved in an accident, then the time to process the meat, fur, bones, teeth, claws, etc. For claws, teeth, and bones you have to remove (clean) all the hair, skin, meat, fat, and tendons from each item, then disinfect by boiling, with alcohol, with Borax or hydrogen peroxide, the items are left to dry in borax or salt.
Before the claws are ready for display, the claws are cleaned again then we add a coat of sealer and hardener. We added the sealer and hardener as each claw had become brittle and porous, which was caused by the disinfectants and drying process.
