Crow Tail Feather Fans

These are a pair of handcrafted beautiful Crow Tail Fans. Two different crows but I think they were related.

The tail fan with the short feather (A) measures 9.25” from the base of the handle to the top of the center feather, while the other crow tail feather fan (B) measures 9.25” also, each fan has a deerskin 10” braided lanyard along with fringe that is on average 7” long.

They work great as do all-natural feather fans, as that is how nature has designed feathers, to be most efficient in pushing air.

The feathers have not been straightened but have been dried in their open formation.

The fan handle is made of distressed black buffalo leather, one piece of leather sewn around the base of the tail feathers, then attached by sewing between the quills to secure the handle to the leather handle. I have added a deerskin braided lanyard and fringe to finish off this beautiful useful fan.

All feather fans are unique - you will receive the actual fan shown in the pictures.

All our fans are hand-made, and the feathers and bird parts are handled with respect and care. Fan construction runs through the following process – feathers/wings are dried and cleaned by our suppliers, and when parts are received they are processed, cleaned, and steamed. For every wing or tail feather fan, each part is measured and a leather handle is constructed to fit the part. The Prayer and Dance fan leather handles are wrapped in deerskin with each fan receiving a deerskin lanyard and fringe/lace.

All bird parts are natural, making all feathers, tails, and wings one-of-a-kind, making every fan different. We make our fans look the best possible but we will never call a fan “perfect” as this word is left up to the owner to describe their fans.

The prices are the same for each Fan Category (eg. Smudging, Crow Tail, Crow Wing, Turkey Primary, Turkey Secondary, etc.)
